Review:Superman & Batman in Super Comics Vol.2 No.14 Part 1

Hey guys, i am going to review a random comic that i picked up from the old pile which i talked about in this blog's introduction. This particular comic has a Batman and a Superman story in it. Therefore, i am going to do this review in two parts. The first part will cover the Batman comic. So let's get started, with "BATMAN AND THE RIDDLE OF THE MAN WHO WALKED BACKWARDS".

This comic has a relatively very unusual title, i must say.Adding to that, you will later find out that the "Man Who Walked Backwards" actually has very little to do with the story itself.Another thing i would like to point out after doing some research on the internet, is that this comic is actually Batman #277.Yes, that's how random this review is.Maybe, it is because i live in India that i got this 2 story combo comic. Also the cover of the original Batman #277 and my comic is different as you can see in the below pictures:
Batman #277 cover

My comic's cover
Now that we compared the differences, lets get on
with the actual review.

Plot

Bruce Wayne is happily enjoying with Susan at his beachfront home, away from Gotham on a vacation. He reads about a sea-monster  being spotted at Cove point and decides to check it out with Susan, only to attacked by the sea-monster itself. It disappears into the waters and Bruce decides to pay a second visit there, as Batman, and sees a man walking backwards on the beach to erase his footprints. He is revealed to be Sam Taggart after he attacks Batman. But both of them are knocked out by an unknown man. After Bruce regains consciousness he realizes that his Batman suit is gone expect for his boots. He is convicted for the murder of Sam Taggart and is sent to jail from where he escapes and is saved by Alfred. He then tracks down the mysterious person who knocked him out and discovers him to be part of  an oil rig crew.He also discovers that the  crew members used the sea-monster suit for transporting dope and he
confronts them at Deadwood, stopping their plan in its tracks. The
next morning Bruce Wayne is seen in the jail being apologized
by the police officer for wrongly suspecting him.

      Likes

This comic is quite different for i think it is one of those rare ones where you see Batman operating out of Gotham city for a change. Also, there is a lot of puns and other kinds of jokes which can make you giggle or smile at the least. But i don't think that would be enough  to cover up for this comic's plot.

     Dislikes

As i said, this comic's plot is not very good.I think that i can say that it is a bit cliche in some ways like when Bruce is locked in the prison he uses his mini-tools from his boots to get out but also when he gets trapped underwater,  his tools from his utility belt  save him again.Although, you can't complain too much about the plot of some random short story like this in the middle of an old comic book found in a closet !

Overall, i think this is one of those mediocre comics which turns up every once in a while without a proper plot and is used like a filler in animes. If you watch Naruto, you know what i'm talking about. Not too good a read, and i would only recommend this if you are bored to death and you just want something to keep yourself occupied.
